Katrina Roundfield, PhD, is a licensed clinical-community psychologist who pivoted her career from academic medicine to entrepreneurship in behavioral health tech startups. Katrina was the co-founder and Chief Clinical Officer at Appa Health, a teen mentoring and mental health skills company. At Appa, Katrina led the team to successfully secure a $2M SBIR grant funded by the NIMH. Now, Katrina is building another company in the digital health space. Prior to co-founding Appa, Katrina was on the founding team of Two Chairs, an adult psychotherapy startup. Katrina maintains an advisory role at Two Chairs today. Katrina completed her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical-Community Psychology at DePaul University and her predoctoral residency at Yale University School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry in 2014. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry in 2016 and maintained a faculty position at UCSF for 7 years.
