John has nearly 25 years of policy experience at the state, national and federal levels. In his role as the Chief Policy Officer at the Meadows Institute, John is tasked with shaping the policy environment to ensure that effective, accessible and data-driven behavioral health care is a reality for all Americans.

Over his career, John has helped to reform mental health laws in more than thirty states and played a key role in the passage of the most substantial federal behavioral health legislation in generations. He is frequently quoted in national media, with research he co-authored having been cited by national reporters hundreds of times.
